CASA Kane County is a nonprofit, volunteer organization that advocates for the best interests of abused and neglected
children within the Juvenile Court System.
Who is
CASA? CASA Kane County is a nonprofit organization that advocates for the best interest of abused and neglected children
by no fault of their own.
17 professional staff provide resources, training and support to the 275 CASA/G AL volunteers
Volunteers who are helping out children find safety,
consistency, and permanency to more than 600 children annually.
CASA serves 100% of children that come into the
system because of abuse, neglect and private guardianship.
CASA receives no funding from the state/government and must rely on private donations
and grants.
The reality is foster children have very few belongings, just a couple of outfits, photographs, and a stuffed animal
or toy. When they are moved between families, these children are often forced to carry their keepsakes and belongings in plastic
trash bags without any personal incidentals. Caring their items in bags can be embarrassing and yet another reminder of how
little they own and we hope to change this circumstance through the CASA "Luggage of Love" Campaign.
