Mutual Ground

Mutual Ground operates a shelter for women and their minor children who are victims of domestic violence. Here victims are provided safety, shelter and support services while they learn they have the power to change their lives.

Mutual Ground is again setting up a “store” for kids to shop for their moms and a “store” for moms to shop for their kids. No money will be exchanged-the store is stocked with all donated items. They have found this is much more satisfying for all as family members can pick out the presents themselves. They will also wrap the presents themselves so any wrapping paper, bows or tape that could be donated would be greatly appreciated.

In addition to the specifics for the "stores" listed above, any donations of gift cards would benefit many families all year long; they can use most anything they are given. Walgreen's, Walmart, Target, Meijier, Jewel-Osco would allow Mutual Ground to help with prescriptions as well as needed items. Other favorites are Sears, K-mart, Penney's, Kohl's; even Home Depot and Lowe's allows Mutual Ground to purchase needed items for the building.
